Quality Red Hardwood Internal Doors
Red hardwood as used in door manufacture is generally called Mahogany but could in fact be Luan or Meranti or any one of many other related timbers. Due to the world shortage of forest timber the general method of construction of doors is now what is called “engineered”. This construction method consists of a laminated timber core of usually hardwood (some times softwood), which is then covered with the hardwood red veneer giving the final door skin. This method usually gives a better colour match to the door; however a colour stain or varnish is usually preferred to blend any colour variations.
