The standard height of ready made French doors is always 1981mm (78 inch). To achieve greater height you will need to use a fan light frame. Widths have been standardised at 36, 42, 46, 48, 54 and 60 inches (see metric converter), and are mainly 40mm thick. They are usually supplied in red hardwood with bevelled clear glass, although unglazed is occasionally an option. the thickness is usually 40mm or 44mm (excluding the Cavendish French door pair and vufold which are 54mm thick and usefull where the planning specification requires this).
