External Economy Doors
Our range of 'Economy' doors have a dowelled construction, and are either 40mm or 44mm thick. They are generally unstained hardwood, and require a light sanding before the desired finish is applied. External doors were traditionally constructed using a wedged joint, where the rails meet the stiles of the door. However, with the supply of modern waterproof adhesives, the joints have given way to wooden dowels forming the construction. This is done for economical manufacture. These doors, when correctly finished are suitable for most locations, however if the door is going to be subjected to severe weather conditions, an M&T door from the quality range should preferably be fitted.
